About Us!

Renfrewshire Youth Voice is a charity organisation ran by young people for young people. We work to empower and uplift the young people within Renfrewshire through creating connections with decision makers on both local and national level!

One way we are able to create these links with decision makers is through our links with the Scottish Youth Parliament - with there being several MSYPs within the group!

As well as building bridges with local decision makers, we also aim to help the young people of Renfrewshire by organising different events throughout the year! We run these events to provide the youth of the local area with something to do which is safe and uplifting.

Our MSYPs!

Our History

Renfrewshire Youth Voice, ever since its inception in the early 2000's, has served as a youth voice forum.

Originally, it was founded as a space for Renfrewshire's elected Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament to meet with the young people of the local area; like an MP or MSP would hold a surgery!

It has since grown into the charity we are today! Endeavouring to bridge the gap between the decision making process and the youth of Renfrewshire.

Our Aims & Objectives

At Renfrewshire Youth Voice, we have five charitable aims which we choose to give a particular focus to!

These aims are:

  • To faciliate and organise activities for young people aged 12-25, who either live or regularly use services in Renfrewshire.
  • To provide young people with a safe and friendly environment where they can participate in youth activities to ensure they have a say in decisions within the local area.
  • To equip young people withsoft-skills such as teamwork, organisational skills, and improving their self-esteem and confidence.
  • To alleviate the effects of poverty amongst young people, by promoting a culture of inclusion and tackling any forms of discrimination.
  • To work with local organisations, businesses, and the local authority in the best interests of young people.
